HeatherMakes is all about handsewn items.
I was shown how to use a sewing machine a few years ago. Since then I have taught myself to make and create a variety of products.
I now teach others with my sewing tutorials
These are just some of the things I make:-

Soft toys
Quilts
Tote/craft bags

At my children's secondary school I have started a sewing class. The children are really excited and learning fast. Fingers crossed that this is a success.
Teaching a group of ladies to use a sewing machine whilst also teaching them quilting! great fun, a chill out and socialising! Great for the mental health!

A few years ago I went on a one day course and was taught how to use a sewing machine.
Over the years of machine sewing, I have built up my skills and confidence.
I also voluntary teach sewing at a local school. My aim for the children to be able to make their own quilts, cushions etc. I think they will enjoy the handmade crafts teaching. Arts and crafts seem to be more popular than they were.
Maybe one day I can start my own sewing school. I am really enjoying teaching sewing.
